Zoo Lagos is a magnificent zoo, founded on the principle of “conservar-educar-proteger” (conservation-education-protection). You can tell as soon as you go in that Zoo Lagos is all about the animals, the environment they live in is beautiful and the animals are so happy that many of them are breeding!

Parque da Mina is a renovated old farm, just outside Caldas de Monchique, with an 18th century furnished house, which has now been converted into a theme park. The highlights include a disused ore mine, a Medronho distillery (a local brew made from distilled medronho berries of the Albutus/Strawberry Tree and originally created in back room stills) and wood coal production.

FIESA – International Sand Sculpture Festival
FIESA is a mega exhibition of sand sculptures held by Prosandart since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve. The festival is unique in the Iberian Peninsula and is considered the largest sand sculpture festival in the world.
